The start of the Steco-line

The focus turns to the development of the innovative Mee® line in the 1970s. The Card Mee® appears on the market, followed by a large number of products. Steco is known today for the Mee line.

The fourth generation

Gerhard van den Top (fourth generation) takes over his father's wonderful family business.

Expansion of machinery

To meet the increasing demand from the market, we have expanded our machinery this year. An additional welding robot and bending machine have been added to the current machinery.

Move to Stroe

In 1937, the building in Essen became too small and Steco moved to a more spacious location in Stroe. World War II put the production on hold. After the war Steco was exporting her products to more than forty countries.

Next generation

In 1949, the then 27-year-old J.J. van den Top took over the company from his father. Under J.J. van den Top's leadership, Steco grew into a company of stature and the production was modernized. In the sixties, Steco employed more than eighty people.

It doesn't just stop at rear carriers, bicycle pumps and lighting. J.J. van den Top knows how to enthuse his staff every day to further expand bicycle accessories.

Since this year, a large part of our roof is full of solar panels and we generate our own energy.
